Designers find it extremely helpful to use page layout techniques to develop good visual compositions.

The most common uses of graphic design involves corporate design (emphasis on logo or branding), editorial design (magazines or books), web design, product and packaging, communication design, and etc.  Graphic design is a basic foundation for all other types of design because it focuses on how we communicate visually.  Designers are responsible of applying both functional and aesthetic elements to fulfill the purpose of their work.
